Translations and fic recs and writing rambles, oh my!

So lately an older(ish?) Hetalia fic of mine, But That Was In Another Country, has been getting a bit of attention.  Two people asked if they could translate it (both into Chinese; the first can be found here, and the second here, respectively), and it's shown up on at least a couple rec posts on tumblr.  Which is awesome!  It is super-flattering and basically makes me all squishy and blushy.

But it kind of throws me when it gets recced as a PrussiaxHungary fic.  Just a little.  And maybe it shouldn't, because it does have some PruHun action in there, but...like...it's really quick, and only at the very end, and it's really more of a plain ol' Prussia-centric fic than a true pairing fic?  To me, at least?

But then again, what the hell do I know?  I'm just the writer.  And that PruHun bit sort of jumped out of nowhere in the first place, so who knows?  Maybe it is more of a pairing fic than I give it credit for.  XP

In other news, I'm back to plugging away at that old historical!AustriaxHungary fic I keep periodically talking about (here is a tumblr post where I angst about my writing process and post a short excerpt).  And it's going well!  I'm at a point where I'm sick of rereading what I already have written and so find myself filling in the blanks out of boredom/necessity.  Which probably doesn't sound like the best way to write, but it's kind of what I need at this point for this particular fic.  As a writer, it's all-too-easy for me to get distracted by the shiny, exciting parts of a fic, and to kind of forgo important-yet-not-nearly-as-exciting parts like scene transitions.

In yet other news, I've had the urge to write some AustriaxHungary smut based on their doctor/nurse Halloween costumes from a couple years back.  (Smut really isn't my usual thing, but it's kind of neat for that very reason.  Change of pace, you know.  And it's been quite a long while since I wrote any, so.)  Also, AustriaxBelarus has been itching at me again, so we'll see where that goes.  I thought I was AustriaxBelarus'd out, but then I started thinking, "You know, you could write a follow-up to Pas de Deux..."  And now the idea won't leave me alone.  DX

But I'm really trying to stay focused on the previously-mentioned AustriaxHungary fic.  (And hell, I might as well start using its name; I complain talk about it enough.  Forward and Reverse.  It's called Forward and Reverse.  There.)

Yay! Austria/Hungary fic yes please....hell anything you write yes please. (Sorry for that, I've been lurking on LJ for awhile and just wanted to say "Hi! Your writing....I simply don't have the words to do it justice.") And that's awesome about But That Was Another Country. It is hands down the best eastern bloc!Prussia fic I've read, especially since you approach it from a completely different perspective.

Aww, thanks! I'll admit that But That Was In Another Country is one of the fics I'm most proud of, so it's always really nice when people list it as a fave or just praise it in general. =^^=

And I'm very much a lurker, myself, so no worries on that front! I totally know what it's like to silently appreciate something, hah.
