Wow.  I actually did it.  My first real piece of fanart.  I'm certainly pleased with it, what with the whole haven't-drawn-in-three-years thing.  I even went crazy and did it in colored pencils, which I haven't used in about four.  (And ohh...skin color is a bitch to get correct.)  It was fun, though.  Apparently just what I needed.  Nothing fancy, really, but my style sort of took over.




You can decide for yourself what that little smirk and raise of the eyebrow is for.  ^_~


Unfortunately it was too big to scan, so I had to take a picture of it.  Could stand to be a little sharper.  Maybe I can get a better pic in the day.  EDIT (five years after the fact):  DONE, AND DONE.

Technical stuff:
Approximately 20 hours, Prismacolor pencils on 11"x14" Strathmore drawing paper (ivory, 80 lbs.)

Wow, that's really good. A three year break apparently does not make you suck at drawing.

Best way to get all the hookup info is by watching ff_press, it's like, kind of set up like a newsletter for all things FF related on LJ. I wouldn't be half as active without it. This is both a good and bad thing. XD

ART. Good art. It's a good likeness, the colors are spot-on, and I especially love your attention to detail and ornament, which is something that her dress sense seems to revel in.

I like the twirls at the end of locks; a bit stylized but very in keeping with her "ornamental" flavor!

Thanks! The twirlies kind of happened on their own--they tend to end up in a lot of my stuff. I kept thinking they give her a little Spanish flair. Or maybe I thought that simply because I was listening to Spanish/Latin music.

And "cherry-poppage" refers to the first time I do/did something. Thus, I popped my fanart cherry with this. XD
