Also, I quite like this line: Hungary laughed like horses and sleigh bells. Possibly because it makes me think of Hungary in a horse-drawn sled, which could cue awesome adventure and/or romance. Possibly both!
I TAed for a class about postwar American culture last term. I didn't know much about Elvis before the class, aside from those ridiculous Elvis impersonator costumes. But he was really a pretty stand-up guy, and I felt sorry that all I knew beforehand were the rhinestone suits.
