OH JEEZ this is gorgeous. Straight out of an opera, too, honestly. I love the idea of Austria letting loose when he has a mask to hide behind (like how he can express himself better through music - it is a wall to hide behind). And I love that he was concerned for her honor - I always saw him as wanting to avoid an unprofessional relationship for his own sake, but I never really thought about him being concerned for her reputation (at least on that particular front!). Spot-on. I'll be over here fangirling. (Would love to see a followup to this where he tells her it's him years later, or she recognizes his kiss when he finally does kiss her non-anonymously... if the inspiration strikes!)
